Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Hospital – National Guard

Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Hospital (PMBAH) is not part of the Ministry of Health system. It belongs to the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs (MNGHA), which runs its own hospitals, recruiting, training and academic work.

One of the larger private diagnostics providers in the country, relevant for medical laboratory specialists, laboratory technicians, phlebotomy, microbiology and related fields. The form asks for specialty, preferred city, shift availability, a CV and the SCFHS licence.

Al Salam Endowment Hospital

Al Salam Endowment Hospital (مستشفى السلام الوقفي) is a special case: the first large waqf hospital of this kind in the Kingdom. It opened in 2024, about 100 metres from the Prophet’s Mosque. The development authority cites 81 beds and high volumes in emergency, dialysis and intensive care. It serves visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque and pilgrims in particular. Operations sit close to the health sector and the Madinah Health Cluster, with the charitable health waqf and Ehsan also central.

Laboratory, radiology and other allied health roles

Beyond doctors and nurses this includes physiotherapy, radiology technology, laboratory, respiratory therapy, clinical nutrition, occupational therapy and medical-technical professions. Fakeeh, Saudi German, Mouwasat and MNGHA employ large teams in these areas. Specialist employers such as Al Borg sit alongside them.

What foreign doctors and nurses need

The key authority is the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS). Two steps should not be mixed up.

DataFlow and document checks

Uploading degree certificates is usually not enough for applicants from abroad. Many qualifications go through primary source verification: the check is whether the degree, university, professional licence and experience are genuine. Yes. International applicants should start professional classification early, not only after arrival. The sooner it is clear whether someone is classified as specialist, senior registrar or consultant, the clearer the job search becomes.

A Saudi hospital is not a German hospital

Moving from Germany to Medina changes more than language, climate and contract. The mindset inside the hospital and how people work together can be different too. That does not mean the medicine is worse. In large tertiary hospitals, and especially in National Guard facilities, standards and technology can be very high.

Medina’s healthcare market is larger and more varied than many people outside the city expect. Public care is carried mainly by the Madinah Health Cluster, with King Fahd Hospital, Ohud General Hospital and King Salman Medical City.

Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Hospital is a National Guard employer worth taking seriously when the role fits. Medically and organisationally these hospitals in Saudi Arabia often work at a particularly high level.

On the private side, Fakeeh, Saudi German, Mouwasat, Hayat National Hospital, Madinah National Hospital and Al-Ahmadi matter most. NahdiCare, Al Madinah Medical Center, IGMC and Al Borg sit alongside them.

For international applicants, SCFHS classification and registration remain central. Alongside the clinical qualification, you need to be ready for a different hospital culture.
